AMSOIL Synthetic 15W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine Oil

Captain Sheriff’s Fishing Charters exclusively utilized AMSOIL Synthetic 15W – 40 Heavy Duty Diesel & Marine Oil in our  2005 Ford 350 P/U with a 6.0 liter diesel engine.

AMSOILGUARANTEES the performance of their for extended oil drain intervals of 3X OEM recommendations up to 1 year, 600 hours or 50,000 miles or further with oil analysis. This does exclude certain diesel powered light duty trucks with particulate emission filters due to regeneration cycles where fuel is contaminating the oil and shearing out the viscosity.

Ford recommends changing conventional oil every 5,000 miles. Based on this information, 15,000 mile oil drain intervals are extremely conservative and it is also approximately how many miles are put on my vehicle per year as well.

Having owned 2 Ford diesel trucks all utilizing AMSOILand extended drain intervals since 2002, I have learned a great deal personally about the oils performance. In addition, having clients with diesel powered vessels and vehicle fleets has provided knowledge as well. A very interesting discovery is that 600 hour oil drain intervals on commercial fishing and research vessels are conservative. Oil analysis is demonstrating that up to 900 hours is attainable with existing oil filtration systems. Diesel oil by pass filtration is providing ever further extended drain intervals beyond 1,000 hours. The engine protection at 600 hours is far superior to conventional oils even at their 100 – 200 hour recommended drain intervals. In addition, clients are telling us that the 1.6% to 5% fuel reduction over the 600 hours of operation and the extended oil drain interval versus the 100 – 200 hour conventional oil drain interval that the oil change maintenance cost with AMSOIL synthetics are actually paid for.

Synthetic versus Conventional Oil Cost Comparison

AMSOILsynthetic diesel oil costs approximately $27.00 per gallon. The least expensive conventional diesel oil on the market is approximately $15.00 per gallon. To attain 600 hours of operation with 150 hour oil drain intervals with conventional oil, a customer would pay $15.00 gallon X 4 oil changes which are actually $60.00 gallon versus $ 27.00 gallon for AMSOIL. Now you are getting superior engine protection and performance at half the cost of conventional oil.

By attaining only 2 % percent additional fuel efficiency over the 600 hours of operation @ 5 gallons per hour equals 3,000 gallons of fuel consumed. 3,000 gallons of fuel times 2% fuel reduction equals 60 gallons less fuel consumed. 60 gallons of fuel @ $4.00 per gallon equals an additional $240.00 savings in fuel. This does not even factor in the reduced downtime, extended equipment life, hazardous waste oil and filter disposal.

Why would anyone ever consider purchasing conventional oil again?
